Match Report
Bernies was booked for this match as a venue had not been identified when the fixture list was generated. It was a cold but bright day but without a frost. In the previous match at Bernies the Solar Panel farm side had fished considerably better than the car park side- so for this match the majority of anglers were pegged along the Solar Farm side with only two at the far end of the car park side. The fishing was very variable with some anglers catching carp almost straight away whilst others did not catch a carp or had to wait right to the end of the match before they caught one.
In first place was Steve Pentecost who was fishing on the car park side and struggled to get a bite but finally found 5 carp fishing a feeder with Red Robin pellet. These weighed 21-13-8.
Vince Herringshaw, on the Golden Peg was fishing the far corner swim on the solar farm side. He dobbed punched bread to catch 8 carp weighing 20-2-0 to take second place but unfortunately not enough to take the Golden Pegs monies.
Third place was taken by Keith Hughes who was fishing two pegs down from Vince and dobbed bread or dead maggots to catch carp weighing 18-0-0. Keith’s swim was very snaggy and he lost several bigger fish which would have given him the win.
