Winner:  Steve Hanson
30-6-0
Runner Up:  Keith Hughes
28-9-4
Third:  Vince Herringshaw
21-9-0

When I left Worthing it was grey but dry. However when I went over Bury Hill it did not bode well, as the roads were running with water and when I got to the car park at Petworth Park it was starting to rain. The rain got heavier as we set up and this lasted for some time but cleared up so that we finished the match in sunshine. The good news was the initial light wind got stronger throughout the match and was blowing into the road bank. This helped to provide better catches of bream than had been seen in the previous 2 matches.  11 turned up for the match including newcomer Steve Bacon who ran down to the draw at the lake and then went back and got his tackle from his car in the car park and still managed to set up in time.

Steve Hanson fishing to the right of the concrete slab on the road side, won the match with 30-6-0 caught on the long pole using pellet and paste. The catch consisted of 7 bream and 1 tench.

Fishing on the right of Steve was Keith Hughes who again used the long pole and pellet to catch 9 bream for 28-9-4.

In third place fishing two pegs to the right of Keith was Vince Herringshaw who fished on the long pole and also close in to catch 21-9-0. This consisted of 2 tench, 2 bream and a 4-13-0 common/crucian cross.

Overall this was a much better match than the previous ones this year with 7 of the 11 anglers catching over eleven pound of fish. The fish were not only caught on the road side bank but also behind the island with John Williams catching 3 tench and 2 crucian and bits. Fishing next to him was Kevin Leighfield who had a nice roach/bream hybrid of 2-6-0.
