Match Report

Thirteen anglers turned up, on another fine warm day, for the second leg of the Daniels Rose Bowl including new members John Ritter and Tim Evans who had fished in a previous match at Bethwins. The lake looked like something from a Passion for Angling with the mist rising off the water. However the anglers knew it could be a hard low eight match with high pressure and little or no wind. (what little wind there was came  from the north and hence did not blow onto the roadside swims). Wind is needed for the best catches, in fact some of the best catches have been had in gale force conditions. Eleven were pegged along the roadside with the remaining two fishing behind the islands.

New member John Ritter was fishing on the concrete slab, on the roadside section, and took first place with 4 bream weighing 12-7-12 caught on the feeder.

Steve Speller was on the Golden Peg and just failed to take first place with 4 bream weighing 12-5-0. Two of these fish were caught on the pole and two on the feeder using meat and dead maggot on the hook.

Fishing next to Steve was Mike Kitchener who had 10-7-12 of bream.

Steve Speller overall won the Daniels Rose Bowl with 17 points from Kevin Leighfield with 15 points.
