Match Report
We were fully booked for our visit to CDAS’s Long lake for an interclub match. The forecast said it would be a very windy day with heavy rain due between 1 and 4pm. The information we had been given with regard to the fishing was that it had been a bit patchy with the corners doing OK and the odd big bag of bream from open water pegs.
At the draw Keith’s good form in the draw bag continued with him pulling out peg 1 one of the fancied corner pegs. The rest of the team were spread down both sides of the lake.
At the start Keith fishing at 15m on the pole started by dobbing bread along the reed beds and soon started picking up fish but did lose a few into the reeds as the match went on. However, 63 lb was good for top Bognor angler and second overall.
Gary who had drawn peg 6 had 4 Carp on the feeder to both maggot and corn for 24lb and was second Bognor angler and fifth overall.
Mark on peg 2 had a few fish on maggot on the long pole but also lost a few his 23lb gave him third Bognor spot and 6th overall.
As for the others they had a bit of a struggle with the guys on the east bank unable to fish the pole due to the wind. As a team we gave Chichester a run for their money with our top 6 against theirs only 15Ib behind.
