We had a two week gap before we fished again at Stemps. This time for Kingsbury Tankard. It had been cold overnight in the days before the match and again it was cold on Saturday. I had to scrape ice off of the car but fortunately the lake was not iced up. Nelson and the bailiffs had laid wood chippings on the path over to the fishery and this made pulling trolleys across to the lakes much easier.

Seven anglers turned up for the match and the seven highest rated pegs on Stemps were used. In the absence of Steve the entertainment was provided by Andy who successfully cast onto the island on three occasions providing amusement who were fishing close to him. In first place was Keith Hughes fishing Peg 15. Keith had drawn this peg in the pairs match and so had a good idea how to fish it. He used paste to catch 3 carp weighing 10 – 4 – 8.

Mick Greenway was in second place fishing Peg 13. He used the whip to catch 7 – 5 – 4 of roach using red maggot and casters.
