Match Report
Seven anglers turned up for the second leg of the Kirby Bott Trophy on the River Arun at Watersfield. We set up at the bottom of the tide with the match starting at low water and being fished on the incoming tide. Unfortunately it was a very big tide and the river was like a jacuzzi making for difficult fishing conditions. Again no bream were caught although John Sheppard did lose one. The catches were again mainly roach, dace and perch. In first place was Ray Huskisson who caught 4-2-12 of silver fish on the groundbait feeder using maggot as bait. Ray was fishing on the end peg closest to the fence at the upstream end of the river.
Fishing at the other end of the match stretch just before the reeds was Vince Herringshaw who floatfished to catch 3-10-8 of silver fish on maggot to take second place.
Mick Greenway used the pole to catch 2-10-0 of perch, dace and roach on maggot to take third place.
After two legs of the Kirby Bott Trophy Ray Huskisson is leading with 19 points followed by John Sheppard and Mick Greenway both with 15 points.
