Match Report
The second leg of the Kirkby Bott series at Watersfield was fished on yet another hot day with a strong upstream wind. Steve Simmonds was busy before the match cutting out another swim upstream from the Mint Swim. This year we have tried to fish the smaller tides and this time we fished less of the up tide.
In first place was Glen Riley fishing the newly cut out swim. He used the bolo float on rod and line to catch roach, dace and a couple of perch to weigh in 8-0-8.
Mick Greenway took second place fishing the Mint Swim. He used an Avon float on rod and line and a bolo float on the pole to catch roach and dace weighing 7-4-8.
Third place was very closely fought with Graham White beating Steve Pentecost by 8 drams, with both anglers catching good quality roach on the feeder. Graham was fishing the most upstream swim and weighed in 5-9-0
After two legs of the Kirkby Bott trophy Mick Greenway ( 17 points) is leading from Steve Simmonds(16 points).
