The second leg of the LEC trophy was fished at Grosvenor Road with the anglers walking down towards Hunston to fish in the area of the marker pole where Steve Simmonds had had some good catches particularly of small skimmers. Yet again it was very sunny hot day and as per usual the boats tended to put the fish down and it took for them to feed again after a boat had passed through. There were two double figure weights both caught from the end pegs with anglers in the middle struggling.

Vince Herringshaw took first place with 12-15-0 mainly of small skimmers with a few roach. Vince used bread punch over liquidized bream using either his trusty whip or the pole.

Second place was taken by Steve Simmonds who used maggot fished over groundbait to catch 10-10-0 of skimmers with a few roach.

Mick Greenway was a long way behind in third place and used the pole with either maggots or bread punch to take 2-4-8 of skimmers and roach.

After two legs of the LEC trophy Vince Herringshaw ( 2 wins 20 points) leads from Steve Simmonds (18 points). The final leg of this series is in March next year, when it will be interesting to see if the skimmers are still in the same area.
