Match Report
Again we were at the Hurston Match Lake on another dry but cold day with the hope that it would fish better than the previous matches at this venue. Seven anglers turned out and the same pegs were used as in the first leg of this series. Unfortunately the fish did not co-operate and only 3 anglers weighed in.
Dave Herbert was fishing on peg 11, the one with the tree stump on the inside. He fed maggots around the stump and managed to get out one carp weighing 6-10-8 to easily win the match. He also lost another carp he hooked over by the island. He used the pole with maggots as bait to catch the carp.
In second place fishing peg 7 was Steve Simmonds who caught a single bream weighing 3-4-8 caught on the pole using pinkies, fishing close to the island.
Mick Greenway managed to find another small perch and was given a nominal 0-0-4 to take third spot.
Overall the M Sampson trophy was won by Dave Herbert as he was the only angler to weigh in in both matches.
