Match:  M Sampson 3rd Leg
Venue:  Chichester Canal
Winner:  Alan Herbert
2-11-4
Runner Up:  Mick Greenway
2-8-4
Third:  Steve Bacon
1-15-12

On the final match on the Chichester canal this season we had 7 anglers turn up on a warm pleasant evening which was surprising, considering all the rain that had fallen previously in the week. However this had washed all the colour out of the canal, which was very clear on the night. The match was pegged from Hunston away from Chichester.

Alan Herbert won his first match in the club with a weight of 2-11-4 fishing the main track of the canal. He started well with a good sized skimmer on his first drop in on the pole and didn’t put a foot wrong after this.

Mick Greenway spent most of the evening fishing in wet clothes, as he had followed the previous match secretary’s reputation for falling in. However he managed to catch 2-8-4 of roach on bread punch fishing the pole in the main track of the canal.

In 3rd place was new member Steve Bacon who caught a mixed bag of 1-15-12 on the pole.

Overall in a very close series of matches Keith Hughes was first with 26 points followed by Vince Herringshaw with 25 points and Mick Greenway with 24 points.
