Sunday 15/9/24 saw us at Stemps and Cart for the Macmillan day and charity match. The match was held across both ponds with anglers from our club along with members of Rother Angling Club, Pulborough and the Sportsman club. Every one was given the choice at the time of booking in to pick the lake they wanted to fish to enable them to bring the correct bait and tackle and also making the draw on the day a lot easier. The weather gods decided to be very kind to us and after a chilly start the day was warm and dry with light winds and this encouraged a good number of members to pop over during the day to support the event and look a the tackle sale that Ray one of our bailiffs was running.

On Stemps pond everyone started catching from the off with some fishing the pole and others the feeder and I did see one angler using the waggler but as the day went on things slowed down apart from the usual two hot spots Peg 1 and Peg 15 along with Kevin fishing the feeder to the island from peg 4. These three pegs produced the top weights on the day.

Kevin was first from Peg 4
Carp Expert Cody was a close second from Peg 15
Showing he has still got it, retired matchman and longtime club and committee member, Les Heath was third from Peg1

Well done to all that took part and raised money for this fantastic charity.
