The first leg of the Milliard Cup was fished on a very warm and sunny Sunday on the Hurston Match pond and not surprisingly the weather was detrimental to the fishing.

Colin Bridger was fishing in the shade on Peg 13 (Vince’s favourite peg!!!) and caught 4 small tench, 1 bream and 3 carp on sweet corn to weigh in 12-12-0 to take first place.

Close behind with 12-3-8 was Mick Greenway who was fishing Peg 7. He fished dead maggot over groundbait to catch 3 bream, 1 tench and 1 carp along with a trout, which could not be weighed in.
