Match Report

Well it’s Bethwins so it must be raining It’s incredible we have been here four times over the last couple of years and it has rained every time.

Our last match here a couple of weeks ago produced some good mixed bags from the top pond. So we all set out with the thought of carp and tench with a few perch just to make things interesting. It all seemed to start well with each angler having a couple of tench and a few perch in the first half hour. We just had to wait for the carp to move in with the rest of the tench. Well we waited and waited but the carp were obviously not going to show and the tench seemed to have gone to sleep as well. In the end bottom lake tactics prevailed and it was a case of get as many perch as you can.

First was Vince who did actually have three small tench to go with his perch for a total weight of 7 – 12 – 0.

In second place and the only person who connected with a carp albeit for about 2 seconds was Steve S with 7 – 3 – 0.

Rab who persevered for a carp under the tree on the dam was third with 2 – 4 – 0.

With a win and a second place Kevin, Vince and Steve all tied on points, but it is Kevin who wins the Milliard Cup with the better weight of 36 – 9 – 0 over the two legs.
