9 anglers turned up on a very pleasant evening for the first of the Wednesday series of Rother matches fished at Fittleworth . This was fished on the normal North bank as the cattle were in a field further downstream. Mike Kitchener, Rother regular and expert weighed in a mixed catch, mainly on the float, of 3-4-8 to win the match.
In second place John Williams fishing just downstream from the bridge, had a nice bag of dace weighing 2-13-12. These were caught trotting a stick float.
Vince Herringshaw was third with a mixed bag weighing 2-5-12 caught trotting a stick float. This included a perch which it is good to see making an appearance in the Rother
