Match Report
This was a grey overcast evening with a hint of rain. The rain the previous day had raised the level of the river and increased the flow although it had not coloured the water. Again the match was a walk-off and everyone wanted to be first off so that they could fish the peg where the stream from Burton Mill joins the main river. This honour fell to Vince Herringshaw.
Not surprisingly Vince was in first place fishing maggot on the stick float to catch 6-0-4 of dace and chublets. He also spotted some larger chub at the mouth of the stream but could not tempt them out.
Fishing the first peg down from bridge was Keith Hughes who fished the maggot feeder to catch a chub and bits weighing 3-8-4.
Steve Simmonds carried on his gardening that he started at Fittleworth fishing just down from Keith. He beat a path through the nettles to fish a swim he had noticed over the winter. He weighed in 3-6-8 of dace trotting a stick float.
After two legs of the Moss Cup Steve (18 points) leads from Vince (17 points)
