We had a reasonable turnout for the 2nd of the evening series of matches on the Rother. This time we were at Shopham and as mentioned previously the decision is always whether to go up or down. This particular occasion it seems that down was just favoured with 1st and 3rd places coming from the down stretch whilst 2 and 4th places came from the up stretch.

It was good to see that Ray Huskisson has not lost his touch on the Rother a good chub and a few bits and pieces gave him a total of 5 – 0 – 0 easily enough for 1st place. Ray fished part way down the first straight from the bridge

Mick Greenway fished a peg that is always popular, opposite the stream from Burton mill. This is a great peg for trotting either an inside or outside line and normally produces plenty of fish. It performed pretty much to form for Mick who had a good mixed bag of 3 – 2 – 0 for 2nd place. Nick Wren went for a chub, caught a chub, came third. Its good when a plan works! Nick was fishing in the first straight down from the bridge, not that far from Ray.

All to play for on the last leg but Ray Huskisson and John Savage look the most likely contenders with Ray currently on 18 points and John on 16 points.
