Match Report

A very warm still morning greeted us for the 2nd round of this year’s pairs match, and arriving at the lake it looked like a mill pond. After a little chat we all had a feeling that 20Ib would be a good target for today so we pegged all the deepest pegs along the road bank in the hope someone would find a few Bream. From the start it was soon clear that despite the conditions the Bream were happy to feed when both Gary on peg 3 fishing the feeder and Keith on peg 1 fishing the short pole started to find a fish from the off. After 2 hours Keith had seven and Gary had six bream with reports that all but one person had at least one in the net. Keith had a bit of an issue with Pike around the mid match mark hooking 3 and landing one and then hooking a large Carp of around 15Ib that gave him the run around for about 1/2 hour before breaking his hooklink. Come the weigh in all but one had Bream in the net with some good bags all the way along the bank.

As for the pairs, Keith and Peter just managed to stay in front thanks to their maximum points in the first round.
