The Granary was the venue for the Pairs Match this year. Again a nice warm day was in the forecast but with a stiff breeze, We pegged both sides of the lake again and then drew the random pairs.
Gary and Keith drew together in pegs 9 and 5 and both just targeted the Carp for the whole match and both managed to land 6 each all on the pole. There combined score of 19 points with a total weight of 65lb was easily enough to take first place.
Mick, who had a bad start to the day having lost part of his trolley and had to carry his gear to the lake drew with Jon and had pegs 13 and 7. Jon after his success on our last visit fed a line for Carp and fished for the Rudd for a few hours switching to the Carp line at around 1.30 but did not find any. Mick stuck to the Carp and managed to land and lose a few. They scored 14 points and had a total weight of 38lb 2oz for second place.
Cody and Graham drew together and were pegged opposite each other in pegs 17 and 4 both got off to a good start with Graham landing a Carp on the feeder and Cody having one on the pole early on. Things then slowed down with Cody having 4 more and Graham just getting one more a small but lovely one of about 1 1/4Ib. 12 points and 26lb 5oz was their total for third place.
