Match Report
This was the first leg of the Parfrement trophy at Petworth Park and was held on another dry day. Unfortunately it had rained all day on the Saturday resulting in water starting to flow over the sluices. This extra cold water coupled with little or no wind resulted in the bream being elusive and the weights markedly less than in the previous match.
Interestingly Mick Greenway was fishing the same peg as he had when he caught 17 bream in the last match but this time only caught one. This time we put two pegs behind the south islands and the rest along the roadside bank. There were a reasonable number of bream caught along with 3 tench and also several skimmers, which is hopefully good news for the future.
First place was taken by Phil Tubb who caught 7 bream weighing 23-4-0. These were all caught on the cage feeder from the second peg to the left of the concrete slab just before the big tree.
Steve Simmonds was fishing on the roadside bank to the right of the concrete slab just before the tree and caught 1 bream on the feeder along with 3 on the waggler. These totalled 16-0-0.
Ray Huskisson was in third spot fishing between the island and used the feeder to catch 4 bream weighing 12-4-0.
