Match Report
The second leg of the Parfrement Trophy was fished on yet another warm, dry, sunny day with little or no wind and variable in direction. These are not ideal conditions for bream but a few were caught along with some good sized skimmers. Two anglers were pegged either end of the island with the rest of the anglers pegged along the road bank. The anglers pegged behind the island had lots of problems with pike. Jon Arnold, fishing one of the first pegs on the road bank used carp tactics and hooked one fish that he could not stop and it ploughed into the vegetation on the island. Most of the fish were caught early before the sun got too strong.
In first place was John Ritter, fishing the peg before the tree on the road bank, who caught 8 bream/ skimmers to weigh in 26-13-8. He used the feeder throughout the match.
Gary Collins took second place with 22-9-0 of feeder caught bream. Gary was fishing to the right of the concrete slab.
In third place was Mick Greenway who caught 3 bream and 3 skimmers to weigh in 15-1-0. These were all caught using the feeder and maggots. Mick tried the pole without success. He was fishing on the peg to the right of Gary
After the two rounds of the Parfrement Trophy Gary Collins (19 points) won from Jon Ritter (18 points).
