Match Report
This was the first match of the 2017-2018 match season and was fished under very wet conditions but this did not put the fish off from feeding. As usual the first match was on the Hurston Match Pond.
Although the match finished at 9pm it had become quite dark but we managed to get a couple of photos. Catches consisted of carp, bream, tench, crucians along with some of the smaller silverfish.
In first place was Mick Greenway who was fishing on Peg 13 on the roadside of the lake. He caught 5 carp fishing meat on the long pole to the island along with 2 tench and a crucian fishing the same method and area. He also caught 2 bream plus silverfish fishing dead maggot over groundbait down the middle of the lake on the long pole. These fish weighed 26-6-0.
In second place was Mike Kitchener, fishing Peg 2 on the riverside bank caught 5 carp and a crucian on the long pole fishing meat or maggot along with a bream and silverfish caught on maggot to weigh in 19-10-0
