On another dry warm night the draw was held 15 minutes earlier than normal to allow the anglers to rake their swims and also clear out the surface duckweed that is bedevilling the Tench Lake. This match was the second leg of the Pibworth Cup and the anglers were pegged along the riverside bank. Vince was late, having got caught in traffic and took the spare number 1 peg. Again the Golden Peg was run but was not won.
Keith Hughes was on Peg 9 and used maggot and pellet on the long pole to 3 tench plus rudd to win the match. These weighed 3-11-8.
Fishing peg 11 was Mike Kitchener who used maggot on the long pole to catch 2 tench. These couple with some rudd weighed 3-2-8 to give Kitch second place.
There was then a drop to a weight of 0-12-12 which was caught by Vince Herringshaw and mainly consisted of a crucian.
After two legs Keith Hughes is leading the series with 19 points from Vince Herringshaw with 18 points
