Match Report

Stemps pond was the destination for the first round of the pole only matches and on our arrival the day looked like it was going to be ok with a little drizzle first thing but there was a bit of a chilly breeze. With peg 15 still under repair we left out peg 1 and used 2 to 14 as the end pegs. It was noticeable that as well as the Carp, silver fish were caught in every peg fished.

Keith on Peg 14 (golden peg) used bread punch and corn a caught Carp through the match and his 53lb 13oz was enough the win the match.

Mick on Peg 11 switched between meat and paste and unfortunately lost a few fish to the reeds, which might have been enough for first, but his 41lb 3oz gave him second spot.

Cody who was on Peg 10 had fed a short line for silvers and hooked 3 Carp and landed one within the first 15 minutes before he started to catch some nice Roach and small skimmers before switching to the edge later in the match. His 22lb 6oz was good for third place.
