This match was the third leg of the Presidents trophy and was a silverfish/carp match and was held on the bunker straight of the Match Lake at Passies. There had been an overnight frost but the venue fished well with good catches of carp and silverfish. The cold wind was from the North West and the anglers were protected from this by the hedge on the far side. The match started under sunny conditions but it soon clouded over with the odd drop of rain.
Tony Carr was fishing the far end peg of the bunker straight and used the pole and feeder to catch 47-6-8 of carp to easily win this part of the match.
In second place was Glen Riley who was fishing two pegs back from Tony and caught 27-5-8 of carp.
Third place was taken by Vince Herringshaw who was fishing the first peg by the car park and caught 26-7-8 of carp by fishing under the bridge.
Keith Hughes was fishing two pegs back from the bunker and caught 10-5-0 of roach and skimmers on the long pole to win the silverfish section of the match.
Second place was taken by Gary Collins who was fishing two pegs down from the bunker and weighed in 8-6-0 on the pole.
Mick Greenway took third place fishing pinkies or pellet over groundbait to take 6-15-8 of roach and skimmers on the long pole.
Overall Tony and Vince tied on the same number of points with Tony winning with the larger weight (51-13-8 to 31-10-8). Third place was taken by Keith Hughes who had the same number of points (14) as Mick Greenway but a larger weight (15-2-0 to 14-15-8). Tony also won the Golden Peg.
