The second and final leg of the Ranson Trophy was fished on Hurston Match Lake on a chilly day when the temperature did not go above 8degrees. There had also been heavy overnight rain. The match was fished in overcast conditions with drizzle early on but it cleared up over the day. Under these conditions the fishing was expected to be hard and this turned out to be the case with only 3 carp, a bream, a skimmer and roach and perch caught.

First place was taken by Phil Tubb on Peg8 who caught 2 carp fishing the long pole close to the island. One was caught on bread and the other on sweetcorn and weighed 9-2-8.

Steve Simmonds was fishing Peg 10 and was troubled by small fish taking his bread when he was dobbing for carp on the far bank. So he decided to concentrate on them and weighed in 2-12-8 of small roach and perch.
