Match Report

We decided that the cattle drink area, which normally produces a Bream catch that runs away with the match would not be included.

Duncan drew 1 and decided to fish just upstream of the stile. He had a good mixed net of Dace, Roach and chublets along with some good sized Perch and lost one big Perch. His 7lb 11oz easily gave him 1st place.

Mick was No. 2 out of the hat and went down to the crate swim (4th swim in the wire). Again Perch were a feature of his catch and along with the normal mix of small fish his 4lb 13oz 8dm was just enough for second place.

Just one fish behind Mick with 4lb 12oz 12dm was Steve Penticost who drew No.3. He fished the first blue rope swim and had plenty of fish with a lot of Gudgeon in particular, but no bonus Perch.

This was the last of our three match evening series on the river and it ended up a very close affair with Steve Simmonds just coming out on top.

It couldn’t have been tighter between Mick Greenway and Steve Penticost who were even on points with just 1.5ounces between them on total weight
