Match Report

We have not match fished this section for many years and we have never used it as part of the evening series, so most of the anglers who competed really did not know what to expect. They were treated to Kingfishers and Barn Owls as well as some decent fishing for some. Richard Leduc drew one and went to the cattle drink upstream in the next field, a lovely looking swim but unfortunately it did not produce much. Steve Simmonds found a swim just below Richard and that produced even less! Duncan Elms was seen to be wandering around still trying to decide where to fish long after the whistle had gone for the start. He eventually settle into a spot on the upstream side just past the farm gate. Mick Greenway, Duncan Elms and Cody Hughes all found swims downstream.
Mick had a good evening trotting and put together a very nice mixed back of 5lb to secure the win. Ron Elms had some very good Dace in a net of 4lb 2oz for second place and Duncan ‘The Wanderer’ had one Chub for 2lb 7oz to secure third place.
