This was the fourth match of the Stillwater evening series and was held on Cart Pond and once again we had a warm and sunny evening. The Pond has suffered with an influx of a new type of weed, the bailiffs have done a great job of cutting and removing this although there are some small stalks left, which can be pulled out if you hook up on them. The main catches were Rudd and the challenge was to get your bait through the fry, which seemed very prolific, to the better fish below them. Two small Carp were moved to Stemps.

In first place was Gary Collins, fishing peg 22, he had a weed free patch close to the island, where he found some of the better fish catching;  a Bream, a Skimmer, an Eel and a Perch. He also caught one of the small Carp still left in the lake along with some of the Rudd. He easily won the match weighing in 7lb 2oz.

Mick Greenway was second fishing peg 30 and caught Rudd, one of the small Carp and an Eel weighing 2-13-0 in total.

Richard Garnham (peg 18) decided to just go after the Rudd and caught a range of sized fish weighing 2-9-0 to take third place.

Richard provided the evening’s entertainment- when we came to weigh in he said he had taken apart his landing net and for some reason thrown the head in the water. However when he came to empty the fish from his keepnet, lo and behold there was his landing net head.

After four rounds of the Stillwater evening series Gary and Mick are tied with 37 points however Gary is leading by virtue of a heavier total weight.

The last round of this series is after the evening river series has been completed.
