Match Report
The weather forecast for the day was dry with a occasional sunshine – it turned out this was wrong with the day being grey and overcast with drizzle for some of the match. The anglers fishing were a hardy bunch with only one umbrella being put up.
The majority of anglers were pegged along the road bank with two anglers pegged in the gap between the sluice and the first island. These two anglers struggled with most of the fish being caught in the first few pegs.
In first place was Duncan Elms who fished a waggler and sweet corn over groundbait to catch 42lb 9oz of bream and skimmers. He was fishing the first peg on the road bank.
Fishing next to Duncan was Graham White who matched Duncan fish for fish and weighed in 40lb 6oz. Graham used the pole and started using casters and then changed over to sweet corn.
Third place was taken by John Ritter who used a feeder and dead red maggots from peg 4 to catch 19lb 2oz.
Many thanks to Mick Greenway who ran the match and supplied the report and pictures.
