Our first Carp / silvers points match of the year where you have to weigh in both for a share of the points. A lovely morning greeted us but the forecast was for a bit of rain later in the day and that turned up at around 11.30 in the form of a thunderstorm with very heavy rain for a few hours but it did stop before the weigh in.

Barry fishing peg 13 started by fishing the bomb to the island and had a few small Carp around the 1lb mark. He switched to fishing the pole to the reeds on his right and found some nice Carp and also lost a lot. He also had a lucky Eel that turned out to be just 1oz short of the club record for his silvers bag. Barry’s 47lb 3oz of Carp and 2lb 3oz of silver fish gave him 19 points overall and first place.

Fishing peg 15 Keith started by fishing maggot to try and get a few silvers in the bag at the start but had a Carp first put in and this was the way the whole match went it did not matter where or what he fished a Carp took the bait ranging from 5oz up to around 5Ib. He did manage to get a few small Roach fishing a single maggot up in the water in the end. His 48lb 8oz of Carp and 15oz of silver fish gave him an overall total of 15 points and second place.

Mick fishing peg 8 and he found it hard to catch a silverfish but by spending a little more time at it than the rest of us he put together a reasonable weight of silvers that pulled him up two places in the overall points. His 29lb 11oz of Carp and 1lb 4oz of silver fish gave him 13 points for third place.
