A warm day was on the cards with a gentle breeze and we hoped the breeze was going to put a ripple on the water and as the day went on it did and this helped the fishing as always. We had to put together a new pairing of Gary and Barry due to the two Steve’s not being able to make it. It was clear from the start a bigger bait was needed to stand any chance of getting a bream as the Roach and Rudd took any small bait before it got to the bottom. Most seemed to have worked this out and had a Bream or two, these now range from just over a 1Ib to 4Ib so it is difficult to assess exactly what weights are being caught and the result was not going to be clear until the weigh in.

Mark fishing Peg 2 (golden peg) and Cody in Peg 8 were both fishing the pole and seemed to be landing more fish than everyone else. Those fishing the feeders were not catching as well. This proved to be the case come the weigh in with Mark taking top spot and Cody in second with Gary coming in third

As for the pairs it was very close, but Cody’s 1st in leg 1 and 2nd today meant that he and Keith got the win on weight.
