We had a good turnout of ten anglers for Cart Pond on a day when we were expecting a bit of rain, however the only person who got wet was Steve Simmonds who had a bit of a platform collapse which pitched him head first into the pond. He was immediately accused of illegally groundbaiting his inside line prior to the whistle.
The match was dominated by Richard Garnham who drew peg 17, we had decided not to put peg 16 in but Richard was able to draw the fish into his peg and ended up with a very respectable net of mainly Carp weighing in at 30lb 11oz to easily win the match.
At the opposite end of the pond Cody on peg 25 concentrated on the margins to his left and right, most of his fish came from the right which were of course Carp and a weight of 18lb 4oz was good enough to secure second place. Mick Greenway was not far behind Cody with 17lb 8oz from peg 22 for third place.
