Match Report
The first club match of the new year saw us at Stemps pond and following a very cold week we found the pond frozen. After deciding on the pegs we wanted to use, it was off to breaking the ice and clearing those pegs so we ended up having a later draw and a shorter match. After breaking the ice you are never sure how a water is going to fish but from the start Peg 1 was getting Carp just dobbing bread with no feed and this was followed by Peg 15 using maggot on the pole and Peg 8 catching silver fish on pinkie with the others struggling for a bite. By around 1pm most of the ice that had not been cleared had melted leaving everyone free to try other methods. Peg 13 started to get some Carp on bomb and bread to the island, as the Carp had moved out of pole range Peg 1 switched to bread on the bombĀ and peg 15 was catching on a maggot feeder.
At the weight in it was a landslide victory for Keith on Peg 1 with the biggest winning winter weight we have seen in a match.
