Match Report

In a year that seems to be flying past our new Match season kicked off with a trip to Cart Pond for a pole only match. To our surprise the pond seems to have been taken over with weed and it was hard work finding the 10 swims we needed. After walking around a few times and a debate on moving the match across to Stemps we decided to make the most of what we had and went for Cart with the Match boys who look after Hurston booking some days to come and help the bailiffs with weed clearing. It was nice to see the new Tench putting in an appearance along with Bream, Skimmers and some nice perch and an eel but there was a clear lack of the Roach and Rudd that had been stocked last year.
In first place with a mixed bag was Keith Hughes with 14lb 14oz, Mick Greenway was second with 9lb 1oz and newcomer Pete Burgess was third with 3lb 7oz
