Match Report

The second leg of the W Sampson Trophy was fished on the Hurston Match Lake. Unlike the first leg, which was fished after a couple of nights of frost and a frozen lake, this leg was fished under milder conditions with light rain for the first couple of hours. However the fish did not feed in every peg.

In first place was Vince Herringshaw who was fishing Peg 5, which had provided the winning weight in the first leg. Vince used bread punch on the long pole fished in the margins to catch 4 carp weighing 12-10-0.

Keith Hughes was fishing Peg 10 and caught a small tench and a few roach in total weighing 1-5-4. He used maggots, for the tench and the majority of the roach, on the long pole to take second place.

Glen Riley was fishing Peg 3, which normally is home to some resident carp but these failed to show and he caught two roach weighing 0-4-8.

Overall the W Sampson Trophy was won by Mick Greenway with 11 points from Vince Herringshaw with 10 points.
