Match Report
This was the second week running on the Hurston Match Lake and there were a few more fish moving around with several carp hooked but unfortunately lost. Eight anglers were fishing and were equally spread on the two sides of the lake. Five of the eight anglers weighed in, so the lake was fishing marginally better than in previous weeks. It has now become a standing joke that Mick Greenway is bringing the same perch with him as he has now caught a single small perch on three of the matches at this venue.
Easily winning the match was Vince Herringshaw fishing peg 11, the same peg that Dave Herbert won the previous match from. Things were looking good for Vince as when plummeting up on his island swim he could feel fish hitting his line. He went on to catch 7 carp from this swim using the pole and maggot as bait. He also caught 3 bream from the track fishing maggot over groundbait. The carp and bream combined to give Vince a weight of 33-2-0. This was easily the best weight on the day with no one else getting above 5 pounds in weight.
In second place, fishing peg 2 was Mike Kitchener who caught a single carp weighing 4-15-4 on sweet corn fished in the margins using a pole.
Steve Simmonds was in third place weighing in 2 bream weighing 4-8-0 fishing on peg 8 close to the island.
